Hi ya'll!! I hope everyone has been doing great, I am sorry for the lack of posts but I have been really busy and I still am but I wanted to check in and say hello. I read everyones posts and then I want to write something but I just go blank. Blog block I guess. We are frying out here in West Texas, if it isn't the fires it's the dang heat. This is the worst summer we have had in a very long time. The drought is making it almost impossible to find hay. We are paying almost $200 for a round bale of coastal!! that is just not right. Any of my northern friends want to make some money?? HAHA I have not been on the grey mare in a while, my dad's billy goat decided that he was a big boy and rammed her. She has been having problems now with her right front knee. Vet says just to keep off of her so that is what I am doing. I hate that goat. My beautiful Max is being a companion horse right now and he is 2 hours away, I have not seen him in a long time but I know he is being taken care of.

Football has started up here and both my older boys are playing. I'll have some pics soon.

This is my grandfather. We lost him the weekend of July 4th. It was time, he had dementia and didn't know anyone really. I was out of town and got the phone call, dad said not to hurry they said he had 24 hours. I got back to his house at 1am and you could tell it was time. He was very agitated but when I walked up beside his bed he reached his arm out and I grabbed his hand. I told him it was okay, he could go now, they were all waiting on him. He died 45min later. I fully believe he waited on me. He is the reason I love horses like I do. I loved him very much.Ya'll have a blessed day!

Okay, I'm going to show ya'll some pictures of my gray mare. I know I am looking at the barrel on most of these but we are still in training and I didn't want to hit one. I hope to get some better ones soon and I will be looking at the next barrel. This is mostly just goofing off. This mare is cutting blood all the way, her daddy is Muleshoe Blue Doc and he did win some money cutting. My grandfather got her from my cousin who owned MBD. This mare is so athletic and can flat out move. The first barrel race I took her to she one 1st in the 4D which just means we were the fastest of the slowest. hahah but she is turning out to be a great horse.

Hi all,

I have been so busy and not so busy all at the same time. I have changed jobs, same stuff just better company. I am leaving tomorrow to goto Oklahoma and do some training. I am looking forward to the break from the house but I have a huge barrel race on Saturday, it is my first buckle race in 7 years!! Then my friend who has talked me into doing all this again is having major problems at home and will be selling her horse so now I get to go it alone. EEKKK!!! It sure is fun to have a buddy to ride with and go on the road with, someone to say "hey stupid why did you do that??" haha I'm going to miss her very much. My good friend Taylor was here for a day, we have been buddies since 1993 and she is smokin those barrels in Houston. I miss her terribly. Life has really been kinda crazy this summer. I need to get back in to this blog, it really helps me iron things out in my head. I'll start when I get back from Hel....er....Oklahoma. We went to the lake about a month ago, here are some pics of that. Y'all have a blessed Sunday and wonderful week!

This 5am stuff is for the stinking birds. I do not like to get up early. Now guess what is happening, I am waking up at 4:30!!!! My body is revolting I just know it. We did abs yesterday and this morning I sneezed and cried. My boss fell in the floor laughing at me. I swear if I make it thru this I'm gonna look good. I have a picture of myself from a few years ago and that is my goal. I need to loose 40 lbs and I'll be at 150 and i'll be happy with that. Yes I just told you my weight. I have to embrace it to loose it. LOL

I forgot how fun and totally broke horse is. Man this mare is comming along so good. Last night I trotted her thru the pattern and she is stopping on her own, holding her form and just doing great so I pushed her into a slow lope and man does she listen to my body language. I was loping up the first barrel and I guess I sat back a tad to much and she shut down 10 ft from the barrel. hahaha I almost went over her ears. I loped her twice thru the pattern and then went off to do something else. I can't stand to only work barrels. My horses have all been able to do multiple things.

The Workout

Egads people, I got up at 5am this morning to torture myself with a few friends and we worked out! HOLY COW do not, I repeat, do not try this at home unless you want to die. My life long friend has a son who went to college to play football at UTEP. He is home for the summer and is our "trainer". I think my arms are going to fall off. I am not a morning person at all and to even get up and make it there in time was a HUGE deal. He worked our arms today and Katt just sent me a text telling me 6am in the morning. I'm going to try and blog about this but I might not be able to move for a few weeks. hahaha I tell you, that punk got a huge laugh out of us ol ladies. We have another friend who worked out with us, the one I have blogged about that was so sick and in the hospital. Her son also plays football for Harden Simmons in Abeline. He worked her out pretty good, I hope he goes easy on her. I did learn that I don't have the arm strenght I thought I did. I'm a pansy according to the guys in the shop. I'll show them...one day..in a galaxy far far away...

OIE-VEY my son has a girlfriend. This is the first crush for both of them and I have had to set a few rules. She is a tad older and much more mature than him and I think her feelings are deeper than his. We had a long talk in the truck this morning and I laid all the rules down, do not ever disrespect a girl, pull chairs out, open doors, say nice things, never ever ever never hit a girl (or momma will hit you), say nice things to her momma, well you get my point. I want a nice respectful boy. I expect that from him and I hope he remembers that. I will say, God knew what he was doing by giving me boys. I could not handle a girl, at all.

I have been ridding the grey mare and she is just wonderful. She is learning the barrels and I hope to start taking her to some practices soon. I won't compete on her for about 6 months from now and even then it will be light work. I don't like to push a horse to the brink of them being crazy fools. I don't just run barrels either. Yesterday we went and worked cattle and oh my that was fun. I have some pics I'll download later. I'm kinda beat right now. hahaha

IT'S FRIDAY!!!

I am so glad it's Friday. I have been waiting for this day all week. haha It is overcast and kinda rainy here so I have the I don't want toos really bad. My boss does to so we are not getting anything done. I love days like today, one of the crews I like the best are in the shop and they are so much fun. Almost like not being at work, everyone kids around and goes to lunch together and they make fun of me but I get em back. They all know I don't do much and get paid really well for that but they also know I control the pay checks and meal checks so they treat me pretty good. I wouldn't change my job for anything.

I rode the Hell Bitch yesterday. She is one fantastic horse. I had to work some kinks out and she is a touch rusty but I think she will wind up being a great barrel horse. I am really looking forward to that, I have missed it very much. I don't miss the whiney, bitchy, witchy, icky women that run in the local shows but if this mare does what I think she will then I won' be runnin with them long. My goofy TB thinks that Dolly is his wifey and he had to follow us around everywhere. He got a good work out yesterday too. Pop's horse TC is getting some weight back on him. I have not rode him because he is just poor. I think he will be just the kids horse, he has earned an easy life.

Short and sweet, sorry! I gatta go to the shop and chat with the guys. LOL

Whew what a wind!

Lemme tell ya, the wind here in West Texas will really blow you off your feet! It's a mess out there today.

I have not been on here much, I'm sorry Kami! My brain has been kinda mushy and just not really with it. LOL No comment from the cheap seat!

Happy Mothers Day to all of you. It's such a thankless job we do but I don't think any of us would change that.

I have a problem that I know has been around since I was in elementary school. My moods ride this huge roller coaster and it's not pretty. Last week it got down right ugly. I think that is why I have not been on here much, I have not had much to say. But, I think we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank God for that. I don't know how much more of this I can handle.

Pop is doing okay. He wants to come home but home is not in Texas to his mind. He is back in MO, the time of his younger years and it is sad. I wish I could take him back there but that won't be happening. I don't think I could handle it. It's to sad and he is so confused with everything. It would be really hard.

Mom and dad are loving their place in Gardendale. They don't watch TV as much now because they have to go pull weeds! LMAO The horses are doing good. I rode the Hell Bitch the other day and man is she a fantastick horse. I want to run barrels on her but everyone is freaking out over my back. People just don't understand the pull the horses have for me. I cannot leave them, I can't walk out on everything I have worked for. I think this is one reason for the depression, I have not been horseback much. I will fix that.

Life at my house is not boring, the kids keep us going but this spring we did not do baseball. It's really strange because we have done baseball for 10 years. The boys all want to do a different sport, that's gonna be a load of fun right there. haha But I want them to individuals and not do everything their brothers do so this is what I get.

Jason is cooking supper and it is done so I must go. I will post pictures tomorrow.

So the race at Texas Motor Speedway was rained out (again) on Sunday and they big boys had to race on Monday. That is one reason I am waiting till November this year to go to a race. I don't like to sit out in the rain and walk in the muck. I love this track, it is easy to get around and the sound of the cars just gets right down to your bones. It's awesome!

I love the look of this car.

So, Denny won the race and I am so proud of him.

Jr came in 8th. Thats good for him this year. hahaha

It's raining in West Texas!!

Yippeee!!! We have rain! Boy our dried up land out here with tumbleweeds and rattlesnakes sure did need it. The dust and pollen has been terrible so this wet stuff is an awesome change. In a few days the Mesquite trees will be green, the grass will be somewhat green, the ponies will still be muddy and the kids..well...the kids will be happy to get outside. hahaha

I work in the oilfield and this time last year was so bad, guys standing around the yard praying to keep their jobs, I was praying to keep mine too! Anyways, last month my yard alone brought in 570,000.00! That is WAAAAYYYYY more than we have ever done, it was a record month. Last year at this time we brought in 50,000.00 maybe that much. What a difference hu? My poor guys are like wet dogs today, rain makes the oilfield a muddy, yucky mess.

My bosses wife came in the other day with their daughter who loves me and they had a babby cottontail rabbit. The dog had cornered it and Pammy saved it. She's 4 and as a cute as the day is long. Anyways, I have never held a babby cottontail and I got to hold it and it was sooooo kyoooote!! oh my, I wanted to keep it so bad but we looked up on the interwebs and found a post from a vet that basically said let it go, it will not live if you don't. I was holding the baby in my hand and wrapped it up in a towel cuz it was cold and it went to sleep. Poor thing, scared outta it's fur. Pammy was so funny, she would try to hold it like she would one of her stuffed animals and I would just be like "oh no!" haha. They took it home and let it go.

An update on my friend that was in the hospital for so long, thank you all for your prayers for her. She is much better, still has to be on some meds but working on getting off of them. She got a great job, Praise Jesus! She stopped smoking and has not looked back, she is trying to loose weight (like the rest of us) and this was really an eye opener for her and she it taking it at face value. I am so proud of her.

My kids are doing great. School is good for Dakota, he stays on the A-B honor roll and is doing really good with his conduct. He doesn't get a check mark very often and usually it's just a warning. I took him to the eye dr becuase he said he couldn't read the boards. His eyes are prefect, his brain...not so much. hahaha So we got special "school" glasses and now he can see great. He says those glasses make him read better. I think its so funny b/c they are just plastic lenses. hahaha His teacher got a good laugh about it too.
Hunter is not doing so good on his conduct. He can't seem to keep his hands and feet to himself. He does really good for a few weeks then looses his mind. He got a special treat for doing so good in math. Man I hope that they do good in math, I can't hardly do 4th grade math. It's sad.

I need to post our ski trip pictures. I will, later. I can't from work b/c they are on my other computer. But, Jason fell down the mountain and tore his ACL, had surgery a few weeks ago and is doing Physical therapy now. He is doing really good. He says he will not ever ski again and that is okay with me! The boys had a blast and Dakota would haul butt down the mtn and stand waiting on me and Hunter. Chance tried snowboarding but didn't like it becuase you spend most of your time on your rear so he switched back to skiing. We had a great time.

Meandering of my thoughts

There is nothing better than a lazy day ridding a horse with a good friend. I love it. I'm in front opening the automatic gate. My silly horse doesn't need me to show him how! He has already figured it out. Pam is on TC. TC is about 20 yrs old, he is my grandfathers pride and joy. Why do I have him you ask? Well....Pop is now at the nursing home for vets. My uncle took TC to a boarding place and let them turn him into skin and bones and almost cripple him. TC weighed about 1200 lbs or more and in less than 6 months I would be surprised if he weighed 900 lbs. I cried.

Now he was overweight but my gosh, I just don't know how they could look at him and say "yeah he looks good" ugg.

I also have Pop's other horse Dolly. I am very glad to have these horses as they remind me daily of him. Ya know, I broke TC when I was in high school. I remember it very well. He was a good horse and never really fought much but when he got tired the rodeo was on. haha He's a dang good ol pony.

Beneath the Ice

It was cold. Winter had truly arrived in the desert of West Texas. From the rose bushes and trees in my yard to the wind charger tower and horse corrals everything was covered in a quarter inch insulation of solid ice.

It had rained late the previous evening and when the frigid temperatures dropped to fifteen degrees the ice had wrapped itself around every tangible object in sight. The snow had come after that and the cracking, creaking and clatter of the tree limbs as the wind sliced through them reminded me of fingernails chipping away at a counter top.

The water tanks for the livestock were frozen and walking was treacherous. Feeding and breaking ice for the cattle this particular morning was going to prove to be a very tedious job.

The horses milled in the corrals and their breath hung in the air like little plumbs of smoke. I watched as our big roan gelding pawed into the tank to break the film of ice. He was thirsty and he had lived in the high country long enough to insure his own survival. When the ice cracked and split he drank long and hard from the cold water and the droplets formed ice crystals on his whiskers when he raised his head. The other horses followed suit. The tank would quickly freeze back once the horses quit worrying the floating ice.

I proceeded to feed and hay all the livestock and then went to start my truck to let it idle and warm up. I had loaded feed the evening before and left the truck inside the hay barn to keep everything dry. Breaking the ice covering from around the latch of my chicken hut I held the little tubes in my gloved hand. It was almost like a cut away section of a straw showing where the ice had encased the latch.

The trees continued to clatter and clink as the iced limbs rubbed and touched against each other. When I moved to the dog kennels I pulled aside a broken mesquite limb that had fallen from the weight of the ice. Even the leafless thorns on the branch were iced covered and held a certain beauty as the light shimmered off the points. I guess even mesquite thorns can be pretty in certain settings.

Suddenly I just stopped and really looked around. The cactus leaves and their pointed needles, the water hoses, the barbs on the wire of the fences, everything was covered with a shimmering skin of ice. Everything was hidden and protected inside the frozen water. Releasing the dogs I bent over a shin oak bush and brushed off the snow. It fell like a powder and revealed the ever present insulation of ice. Ice and snow covered everything.

"We're fortunate," I muttered to myself. Fortunately in West Texas winter doesn't last long. It is usually more of a minor irritation than a major headache like it is for those folks in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah and other northern states. And yet, my minor irritation was going to include feeding livestock and breaking ice in water troughs to make sure all was well on the ranch country I called home.

Heading back to my truck I loaded the last of my feed sacks, a shovel, and a wide scoop. Pulling away from the house I stopped on small rise west of the headquarters and watched the fog. The ice shimmered and clinked off the mesquite trees, high line poles, and fence lines.

Stepping out of my truck I broke off another mesquite limb and held it in my gloved hand to let the warmth of my hand melt away the ice blanket. The limb was alive and pliable once the ice melted away. Beneath the ice was a living breathing plant. Such was the case with all the trees and bushes. Beneath the ice casing all of them were still alive and thriving. Dealing with a little hardship maybe with the extreme cold and ice but alive and surviving nonetheless.

They were waiting for the hope and blessings of spring. Each was waiting for the rebirth, regrowth and bursting out that spring and warmer temperatures would provide. True, it was hard to think of spring on a day like this one but it would come. The ice and snow would melt, the temperatures would warm up and the hope and newness of spring would create a new beginning.

Our lives are like that! We are confined and covered in a blanket of troubles and trials that consume our lives. Clinking and clattering and sometimes breaking altogether we hold on to the hope of a new beginning, a new start. We are alive and pliable beneath the layer of trouble and heartache that consumes us. However, at some point those heartaches and difficulties melt away to reveal a new day, a new beginning even a new start. Like the plants we may be cold and brittle, cracking under the weight of our sorrows as the cold harsh realities of life encase us.

The good part is we are truly alive beneath the casing waiting, hoping, and struggling to make it to the new beginning that spring will bring. God does that sometimes--like winter coming to West Texas. Winters come into our lives also. Sometimes it is harsh, cold and unrelenting. Sometimes it is more than we can understand or deal with but beneath those harsh conditions, underneath those cold encased scenarios we are alive, trying to be patient and waiting for our troubles to melt away so a new beginning, our spring, and a new hope can burst forth in our lives.

We are alive beneath the harsh coldness of life wrapped in God's love and plan. We are only wrapped in that covering of ice for a short time. There is a new hope after each ice storm we face. No doubt it may be tough, cold, and almost unbearable but at some point temperatures warm and the ice and trauma melt away and God's bountiful love bursts forth in our lives. No ice storm lasts forever.

I got back into my truck and started on down the road. It is cold. Everything is frigid and icy. But beneath that cold exterior I am alive and warm in who God is in my life. There is a new beginning waiting to burst forth when the temperatures warm and the ice melts. Like the plants, trees, and bushes I'm alive in the hope of the new life that spring will bring. Last week was our Sandhills rodeo. It was a long week for me as I am in charge of our skyboxes. I had a ton of fun, got to sit with Harry Vold of HV rodeo. He is what 86 I think and still makes the rounds. He's so dang funny.

Hi everyone,
I had a great time at Taylor's house. It was so pretty, the weather was great and I got to ride a very high powered barrel horse. Oh it was so nice, I got the bug again but I can't do anything until I get my back fixed.

Crazy West Texas Weather

So yesterday it was snowing. Yep, we had snow in the morning, mist in the evening, cold, cold, cold. Today it is sun shiney and I am wearing short sleeves. LOL But I am not complaining, I love the area I live in. I don't have to worry about earthquakes, tornadoes or hurricaines. Just dust storms. I can handle that.

How was your Christmas? Ours was good. We got the kids a Wii and it is so much fun, there are some games that are a blast to play and you can play as a family. That is why we got it. I am now addicted to Super Mario Brothers, it is like the original with a few twists and we all love it. Well, I was not loving it last night when I could not get past that dang castle!! hahaha

I am leaving tomorrow morning to take a horse to my best friend in Houston. This poor horse made a trip yesterday from Prescott Arizona to Odessa Texas without getting out of the trailer, she was in there for 13+ hours. Oh I was not a happy camper about that but she is doing good and getting a good rest today. She has got some awesome bloodlines. She is a granddaughter on the top side of Easy Jet and Bugs Alive in 75 on the bottom. She is a barrel horse and I am told she can fly. My friend in Houston is going to breed her and get some good babies. I wouldn't mind keeping her here but I can't ride right now so I guess I'll take her on. LOL

Good news for my friend Toni, she is off the ventalator as of yesterday!! God is so AWESOME! We have been praying like crazy for her. She should get to goto a regular room now and out of ICU. Thank you all for your prayers.

My new living room

Hubby and I spent all last weekend painting our living room. My back has hurt all week for it but it was so worth it. The room looks great. It took 2 coats of kilz, 1 white and then we did a sandstone glaze and he painted it on and I wiped it off. It was fun and a good time for him and I.

Horses

I was sitting here reading www.tbfriends.com, it is a place deicated to the resuce of running T-breds. One of the pictures is of a horse lying down and it got me to thinking. Skeery, I know. But this is good. LOL

I was thinking how much I love it when a horse lays down. It shows that the horse feels save and comfy. I remember as a kid going to the barn when Hickory was laying down and going in his stall and sitting at his head or by his back and just laying there with him petting him. He would not move until I did. Those memories make me smile. I loved that horse, he was my bestfriend. The day he died was a terrible day but he didn't suffer, he had a heart attack. It took 2 years before I could think about him and not cry. He gave me everything he had. When I started barrel racing I did not have a clue as to what I was doing. I was all over the saddle and him but you know what, he over came my inabilities. Years later people do not remember me, they remember my horse who gave me 110%. I have no problem with that. I never took the glory when he did good, I gave it all to him. He was was the one running, I was just sittin up there having a good time. Hickory saved me from doing stuff that other kids were doing. I was not good in school and the only way I could HS rodeo was if I had good grades which meant I had to study. I had no time to do the stupid stuff my friends were doing. I am so thankful for that.

Max was laying down the other day and I went out there and sat with him, held his head and loved on him. There is nothing like the love of a horse. To know that they feel safe enough to lay down with you right there speaks volumes. Horses are flight creatures and generally don't lay down. I am so thankful to God that He has given me my bleeding heart for horses and all animals really. Dang, I couldn't even kill a spider, had to shoo him outside.

My friends, I need a HUGE favor. I have a friend who is in the hospital. Her name is Toni and she has been in a medical coma for a week. It has to do with her O2 and CO2 levels. Yesterday they put a treach in and she was awake but not lucid. Anyways, the Dr's can't find what is wrong. She is not in good health at all. She has not had a job in a long time, she can't find one that will pay worth a dang. She has one son in college playing football, one in HS and her brother who is in a wheelchair and his son who has Cerbal Palsy and in a wheelchair all live with her. She can't get assistance because she owns her home. It is a very sad situation and prayers are needed. My friend Katt and I and a few others have been doing what we can to help out, cooking and buying groceries and stuff like that. Her oldest son is the one taking on the adult responsibility and it is hard on him, he's only 21. Please, please help us out by saying a prayer, we know prayer works and we believe in God that He will take care of this.

I love this month. Christ gets talked about most very day and those that even know what they are saying are talking about my Christ. How awesome.

It FINALY got cold here. Saw a few snow flakes yesterday, got so excited I almost wrecked my truck. hahaha It was supposed to snow last night but it didn't. I feel jypped. Now the trusty weather man says friday. NICE, we are traveling to Dallas for Chance to play in a select football tourny on friday. Please say prayers for us.

Now for some sad news. My husband and I decided to sell a few horses. Hay is expensive, shoeing is very expensive and we have so much we want to do and we could not do it due to taking care of the horses. The time came and I put them in the paper, got calls but people were wanting me to give them away and I won't do it. My thinking is, if your gonna pay a high price then more than likely your gonna take care of them. So, tons of calls but no sale. Then and friend of mine posted on facebook that her daughter lost her 20 yr old horse and did anyone know of a good kid horse. Well, just so happens I do know of a good kid horse. LOL We talked and she came out and saw her, took her home and the whole family fell in love. God truly took care of this situation. I lowered my price on the horse because it is very important to me for the horses to have a great home and plus she is a friend. The good thing is that I am going to give her kids ridding lessons so I will get to see Mena all the time. I am so very happy. The other horse went to a 10 yr old girl who was burned in an appt. fire. She is so excited to get a pony. I gave her a ride sunday and it might as well have been ice cream! haha again, God taking care of stuff. I give all the glory to God. He gave me a tallent to train horses and then he gives my horses awesome homes. I have kept Max. He will not leave me, I owe it to him to have the best life possible. Poor thing, his life before me was not good.

On a happy note, ya'll need to go read my friends blog. Katt on everything. She is so dang funny. My boss took over my computer today to read it. HAHAHA

FA, I sent you an email about life after death. Did you get it?

News on my back: I am not going to do the surgery. I am scared of it and I don't want to do it. So, I am starting physical therapy today. I am going to trust in God that this is going to help.

Okay, I'm cold and need a cup of hot cocco. Anyone wanna join me? haha

Long few days

Hi everyone,

I have been really busy and kind of in a writting slump. So, how have ya'll been? I thought when football ended a week ago that we would be done but Chance got selected to play on a select football team! wahoo! Now we will be playing up to January. It is really neat and shows him how his hard work has paid off. I am very proud of him.
I have been working out at the gym and it is not fun. I do not like it one little bit. BUT, I have a goal and I AM going to hit it. I started aerobics and I just know that lady is trying to kill me. haha Yesterday my BFF and I went late and worked out together and I showed her some of the stuff we were doing and I suprised myself. I am getting better at the exercies, Thank you Jesus!!!! I am so happy. It has taken me 3 weeks to get somewhere with this and I am so excited to see that I can do it.

I have a question for ya'll. My 7 yr old asked me how God was born. I tried to tell him that God has always been here and he just did not understand. How would you tell a 7 yr old how God was "born"?

My friend Sheila is doing really good but she is getting tired of all the dr's and hospital and stuff like that, please continue to say a prayer for her. Her aunt was also just told that there was nothing else the dr's could do for her cancer and they took her off of everything. Please add her to your prayers also. Thank you so very much.

We got a new dog, a border Collie named Button. He's a he. LOL He is so funny, he was an outside dog before I got him, now he's an inside dog and it has taken him time to figure out how to walk on the hardwood floors. Last night I went to get in bed and he poped up there and got in the middle of me and Jason like he was born to be there. haha I left him because it was comfortable and I was cold.

I must go, I hope everyone has a great weekend and a very Happy Thanksgiving.

What a weekend!

We had a great weekend!! I am so blessed.

To start out with, my son's team lost and we are now playing for 3rd and 4th spot next week. One little kid looked at me and said "well this sucks." I told him no, playing for last place would suck. haha he had to think about that for a minute and he agreed, where we are is not so bad.
My parents went out of town and took my baby (he's 5), they were going to fish and hunt and all that fun stuff. I was kinda bumed because I didn't get to go. haha Anyways, it was his turn to go and he was so excited. He's a funny kid. When I was pregnant with him my life was not so good. I was scared, alone, already had 2 kids and I even thought about putting him up for adoption. I could not get a job because I was pregnant and that was not fun. The boys dad didn't care about them, all he wanted to do was drink and party and do drugs. Yes, I got out of that FINALLY. I thank God all the time for my parents and He has blessed them so much. Anyways, back to my baby. I am so thankful for him, he is a good kid and he was never sick as a baby or even now and he is just funny. He lights up when I pick him up from school and he just loves me. It is awesome. I really missed him this weekend. When he got home he was so happy that he went outside and played with his trains. Yep, I don't think he missed me as much as I missed him. LOL

We had a cookout at mom's and invited a friend of mine from Jr High and her husband. Her and I used to run around together and we were thick as theives. I had the horses ready when she got there and we had a great long talk and ride. She had some stuff she needed to get off her shoulders and ya know, horses are the best therapy. We laughed, cried, talked about old days and enjoyed each other. We got back to the house and had a great supper and talked some more. It was so dang awesome.
I have started working out at the local gym. Been doing it for about 3 weeks and don't feel any different. Nope, not one bit. So, I thought I would join the Pilates class and get some stretches in. I messed up, big time. I got the days wrong and wound up in the buns of steel class. I can sit but once I do it is very hard to get back up!! haha Geeze Louise! I think the instructor tried to kill me. I have never done a lung and can barley do a squat and I am very out of shape. BUT, I am determined to see it thru. Pilates is today. I'll be there and then tomorrow is arms of steel. I might not be able to lift my arms for a few days.

OH,OH we got a new dog! I'll post pics later but he is a full blood Border Collie with papers and he was given to us. The lady that had him doesn't like dogs and her husband is the one that got him but he died. He is a beautiful dog! never been in the house, not had any training at all but he loves the kids and plays and plays with them. I have hardwood floors and he is scared of them, hahaha. He can't walk on them very well. He is so sweet. I am in love. LOL

My friend Sheila is doing good. She had her radiation done and is home now. She is sick but she is determined not to let the cancer win. I love her. Thank you all for your prayers for her. She is not out of the woods yet.

I'm sitting at work and need to go potty. So, I open the bathroom door and there is a HUGE tarantula stuck to the sticky board the bug company puts down. I picked it up and touched him and he was still alive so I just HAD to unstuck him. Not an easy task, I am here to tell you. I try to get my boss to help and he thinks I have truly lost my brain somewhere and tells me to get lost so, I go out and ask one of the guys to help me and he just tells me to pull his legs of and let him fend for himself. UGGG guys are no help at all. SO, I get a tool and start gently freeing him from the sticky stuff, I got 2 legs free and he got mad at me and stuck em back on there. I'm thinking " Come on here, I'm trying to help you you stoopid spider." The more I fight with the spider, the worse it gets. Finally I go back to my boss and tell him I just need him to stick something under the spider to hold him up so when I free a leg it doesn't get re stuck. He gets a pair of scissors and spreads it open and lifts the spider up and presto we have lift off. Yippeee!!! Now, his front legs are stuck pretty good, one is still stuck. Yeah, I felt really bad about that BUT, he is free now. I don't think he is going to have much feeling on his feet till the sticky wears off. He's missing a few toes, some hair and a leg but he will live. I took him outside and let him go in the grass. I thought if he got dirt on his feet then he would not have to worry about sticking to anything. HAHA

I have Two Types of Cancer - Kinda sux to hear that after Ive already had One Surgery - PAPILLARY CARCENOMA and Now after I was cut open - The Drs found The DREADED Family GENE - Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome (MENs) CANCER- On Top of that - My DADDY has the (MENs) CANCER TOO - talk about a full plate !!! and Ive Never been sooo weak,tired,give out,or beat up in my life - I love Yall,Always Sheila

Please please say a prayer for her.

Today has been a better start to the week. I want to thank everyone for the prayers. If you don't think prayer works then you need to talk to my kids. We pray for our friends and family on the way to school and they know that God listens and answers. It is so great. God is good...God is great!!

One of the neat things about working right by a major airport is..well...major airport stuff!! LOL Just now there were 2 fighter jets going overhead and it was so loud I could not hear myself think. I saw a chinook Friday, Air Force One once, a C30 and we have the air show out here that is down right COOL!

Okay, enough of that. My Dr. appointment went really well. I am glad that I went and saw him, he says that I should be able to ride horses again. YIPPEEE!!! We are going to start with a shot in the back, oh fun, and go from there.

My kids are still coughing and hacking but no flu!! It is going wild out here and tons of kids are missing school. Your continued prayers are much welcome!!

Jimmy Johnson won the race yesterday. I was really hoping Juan Pablo Montoya would step it up there in the end. Smoke did pretty good, Gordon did not so good =). It was a close race there at the end. Nobody could catch the 48 but the other spots were changing as fast as you could blink. My poor Jr. did not have a good race. His mojo is off. He is still my fav and that won't change.

I wanted to show another picture from Alaska. This picture is all wrong! LOL the water is going the wrong way, it's running UP hill!! It was really hard to stand on that bridge and not have to sit down. This is the Yukon River.

Prayer time

My blog friends, I need some help. I have some friends in need, a kid in need and myself in need.

First off my friend since kindergarden: Sheila Broughton has throat cancer and goes into the hospital tomorrow for surgery. They don't know how bad or what exactly they will find. She also has a handicap and is not able to work but gets a small SSI? check. I am having a garage sale to benifit her. Please pray for her and the things surounding her.

My best friend since 3rd grade: Jodie Swafford has high blood pressure and this weekend had a sugar count of 300!!! She is going monday for blood work. Also, her husband is trying to change his life. He asked forgiveness to some friends and even went to church today and the church did not fall down. Please pray for my friends health and for God to continue to touch Robbie.

My littlest son Hunter has had a fever all day today. When he gets a fever he has a febrile seizure and it is horrible. So far he has not had one and we are thanking God for that. Please say a prayer for him.

My aunt's father in law died and the funeral is wednesday. He was a wonderful man, 92 years young. I truly enjoyed talking to him every time I saw him. Please pray for the family.

last, myself. I go Wednesday to the back dr to see just what can be done. I am not really scared, just antsy. Please pray God gives the Dr what he needs to help me.

Thank you all so much, I believe in prayer and I know it works. God has shown my kids and myself on more than one occassion that He is there and He hears.

Well folks,

Smoke and Denny Hamlin are in the chase! I am so excited. I like both drivers and would love either one to win this year.

I am also excited for Mark Martin, the old coot needs/deserves a win. He has been doing this for a long time.

Wanna hear a funny? Evertime we went to the race in Dallas, I would walk down the row of trailers and pick someone that I thought had the best stuff. The first time it was Terry Labonte in the Kellogs car, I got a white hat with the Rooster on it. Guess what, he won the race. The next year I did it again. It was very cool. haha I have not been to a race in I dunno, 5 years. I miss the fun of a race. If you have never been then you have no idea how much fun it is to sit there and smell the fumes of a high octaine machine, hear the thunder of the cars go by, cheer for your favorite driver (88) and still see so much support for Dale Sr. That was the last race I went to in Dallas was the year he died.

I also got to see Adam Petty race. I honestly thought he would be the one to bring Petty Enterprises back to the sport of racing. Kyle can't drive to save his life, sorry to say but he can't. Adam was gonna be it and he was my driver too. Just look at his smile. How uplifting is that.

I am sad Jr. didn't make the chase but that boy has had some problems. He needs to get his head on right and fly like he knows how to. He is a talented driver but I think he is letting all the lime light get to him. I have been a fan of his since he broke out in Bush racing, I was suprised he stayed there 2 yrs. This is an old photo but I wanted to show big E and little e.

I gatta give props to Kasey Kahne too. I like him. He's kyooote. LOL

I really like most of the Chase field except for Bush and Biffle. They whine way to much for me. I thing they need to go back to the Craftsman truck and stay there. Vickers, Newman, Montoya, Gordon are all good. I am stoked for Montoya, nobody thought he could break out in NASCAR and he is showing them he can! Jimmy, oh Jimmy. I like him but not my fav of the group.

I am looking at the field and guess who is 77th. Geff Bodine, GAG!!! if there is gonna be a wreck it will be because of him. I cannot stand the Bodine brothers. EWWWW Mike Skinner is 52nd, Yuck. He needs to stick to Truck racing too.

You know who I would really like to see do something? Casey Mears. Yes, Casey. I think it is awesome how he is not trying to do open wheel like his family and try and make a name for himself in NASCAR. You Go Casey!!

Looking at the list there sure are a lot of names that I have not been paying attention to. Guess I'm gonna have to step up my A game. I miss NASCAR of old, the bumping, rubbing, pushing, spinning, that's just racing NASCAR. I cannot stand to hear those guys whine and cry because someone rubbed em. Makes me sick. I guess that is why I have not been to a race in so long. I dunno.

Talkin God and Jesus today

First I want to show ya'll who my Jesus is...

This picture is one of the most popular of Him. I love it. I went on photobucket and searched Jesus Christ and got tons of pictures. My favorite ones are the old, old ones like Hebrew type ones or Catholic ones. They are so demetional and expressive. But, why and I am on this topic today? well, my husband and I got to talking last night about what he heard in church yesterday. I didn't go, I was not feeling really well. So, the preacher quoted Hebrews 10:26 KJV "For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins." Okay, great passage but what the preacher failed to do was explain to the congregation the before and after verses where it talks about someone witnessing 3 times to a person then 10:26 comes in to the picture. My husband was really confused about this because he was told he had to live the Christian life and rebuke all those that don't. He has not been a Christian for very long and all of this is so very new to him. We had a great talk and then it turned. Yes, it turned. To gay people. He thinks because he needs to lead the Christian life that he does not need to have anything to do with gay people. I am sorry but I do not agree. Gay people need love and they need to know the love that God is. Yes, they are not doing right by God but that does not mean that they cannot change and that God will not ever forgive them. I tried really hard to explain to hubby but I am not a teacher, that is not my gift. I so wish it was.

But what got me started today was thinking about that preacher. I feel he used the good old baptist scare tactic to get people to salvation and honestly, that is not right. I'm glad I didn't go because I probably would have gotten up and walked out. I'm not baptist, not Church of Christ, not Catholic...no...I am a Christian and I don't want religion shoved on me. I want to go to chruch and be challened to get into my bible and see if what the preacher says is true or not. Hubby and I differ so much on Church it is not funny. He thinks we "have" to be in church IE a building with a steeple on it or we are not serving and worshiping God. That makes my head explode. haha I told him that when I go get my hair done, my gay hairdresser and I talk the whole time about God and Jesus. That is worship for Jesus says where two or more are gathered, there I am also. Hubby's head then exploeded. LOL

I have a few wonderful friends that know so much about the bible and God and Jesus and I love the fact that I can call them and tell them what I am thinking and we can talk about it and share and explain to each other. I wish so much for God to put a person in hubby's life that he can do the same with. Hubby's problem is he feels stupid when talking about this becuase he feels he doesn't know anything. I hate that for him. I truly do. Nothing is better than being about to talk to someone about what you are feeling.

So, blog land. What are your thoughts about how God and Jesus handle sin and a "forever" sin? I dunno, I have been shown that I have a loving God and a forgiving God so how can there be a "forever" sin?

We had our first game of the season today. We didn't do very good, the kids forgot how to play untill the last 5 minutes but it's okay. They had fun and that is what it is all about.

my son loves the number 45. My best friends son played for MOJO and he was 45 and now he is at UTEP and still number 45.

This girl is fixin to be mine. I talked to her parents at the game and I want to adopt her so bad!!!!! hahaha

Remembering 9/11 and a skywatch Friday

In my hometown there is a place called Buffalo Wallow, every 9/11 the bank next door to it puts out a flag for every person that lost their lives. There are a few flags dedicated by someone in town that lost a loved one. The pictures do not capture the beauty of this place.

This is the time of year that I just love my West Texas. For one it is football time but for second....it is allergy season. *ACHOO,ACHOO* I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sneeze on you but that is what I have been doing for 3 days now. My eyes itch, they water, they don't feel very good. My ears are stopped up and I feel like I am talking in a well. Oh the wonderful joys of West Texas.

I dont' know where this picture comes from but it fits!! haha

I "borrowed" those pictures because I didn't have any taken. When the dirt blows here that is what it looks like. I got up and went to church today, I am so very thankful the Lord made me feel good enough to do that. I am now off to bed with my box of kleenex and Benadryl. Have a very blessed holiday!!

In the Big Bend region of Texas there is a hidden oasis. The world’s largest spring-fed swimming pool covers almost 2 acres of this 46 acre state park in the West Texas desert.

This is the high dive that my son was diving over me in SkyWatch Friday.

This is my middle child trying to figure out if he want to make the plunge or not. You can't tell by this picture how high up it is.

The San Solomon Spring feeds approximately 25 million gallons of water through a 77,053 square foot swimming pool every day. The water is cool (72-76 degrees F year round) and crystal clear, even at the deepest part of the pool at 25 feet. At Balmorhea you can scuba dive in the pool. The artesian spring supports many aquatic animals including turtles, catfish as well as two endangered species, the Comanche Springs pupfish and the Pecos gambusia.

It's a bird, it's a plane!!

no, no, it's my son diving over me at Balmoreah State Park. An oasis in the desert. San Solomon Springs has provided water for travelers for thousands of years. Artifacts indicate Indians used the spring extensively before white men came to the area. In 1849, the springs were called Mescalero Springs for the Mescalero Apache Indians who watered their horses along its banks. The present name was given by the first settlers, Mexican farmers who used the water for their crops and hand-dug the first irrigation canals.

Situated about four miles west of Balmorhea, Texas, the 45.9-acre Balmorhea State Park was constructed by Company 1856 of the Civilian Conservation Corps, or CCC, between 1936 and 1941. The CCC was established as a New Deal program by President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression as a way to employ people that would have otherwise been out of work. Many of the state parks in Texas were developed during this time.

The 77,053 square ft San Solomon Spring is the focal point of Balmorhea State Park. From 22 to 28 million gallons of water flow through the spring-fed swimming pool each day. Other CCC structures in the park include a limestone concession building, two wooden bathhouses, an adobe superintendent residence, and San Solomon Courts, an early expression of the modern-day motel, constructed of adobe bricks. All of the CCC buildings are constructed in a Spanish Colonial style with stucco exteriors and tile roofs.

West Texas Oil Field

I went out to location today to get pics for you guys. I had a blast and gave some of the workers quite a shock. They are not used to seeing women on location.
So most of what you are going to see is our electric wireline. We go down-hole and shoot charges in the formation, it helps when they frac it.

This is driving up to location..right in the middle of a cotton field.

The truck on the left is the wireline truck and the pumpjack is in the middle not on the hole yet. The derrick has just drilled this well and they are getting it ready.

I took this picture on our honeymoon in Alaska. The water is such a beautiful shade because of the melting glaciers. The silt from the glacier is what does this, it is called glacier milk.

FOOTBALL IS HERE!

YES! Here in West Texas Football rules our lives. From 3rd grade up to 12th grade we play football. I will say now, I do not push my kids to do anything. If they want to play a sport then I let them. I ask them if they want to do something and if they say no then we don't do it.

My almost 11 yr old started football last year as a 3rd grader and is playing this year, he will be on JV this year. He has an idol that he has looked up to his whole life. 45 ruled his Sr. year and he is now at UTEP as a DE. He red shirted last year and is going to be on varsity this year. Anyways, my son had to be 45 and play DE and yesterday told his coach all about the big 45 and how he (my son) gets to play with him (big 45) when he comes home. Hey Katt, can you send me one of those great pictures of 45 that your hubby took last week? I want to post it on here and scare everyone! hahaha

So, last week we had football camp and the little boys went with hubby to take care of the horses while I took little 45 to camp. My youngest asked dad where I was and dad told him and then the youngest told him that one day he was going to be bigger than Chance and knock him on his butt. hahaha Katt keeps telling me that he is going to be a lineman. I can so see it, he don't take crap off of anyone.

I have had so much fun visiting other blogs. I have found some really great ones and ones that I want to follow but can't figure out for the life of me how. Like Pioneer woman, how do you get blogger to follow it? I see some that do but I am just computer dumb. I don't even know how to do a hyper link and I have read up on it but it just doesn't make sense. I have found some blogs that pull at my heart and I know what they are talking about. I have found some that crack me up and I am addicted to them like nobodys bidnezz. hahaha I had no idea that this could be so much fun. I don't do much at work so I have a lot of time on my hands. I love to see the blogs that people follow, that is how I found Skywatch and some of those. Skywatch is so cool, I love to see the sky from around the world. Some I can just sit and look at and dream for a few minutes. I think I am addicted to this blogger stuff. LMAO

UPDATE on my back.
DR words:extruded and sequestered disc at the L4-L5 level with obiteration of epidural fat. Impingement on the Thecal Sac. The thecal sac is pushed downwards and the right side. The sequestered disc measures 11.3mmx10.9mm behind L5.
MY words: OH CRAP. Does this mean I can't ride the horses anymore?
DR words: No Amy, you need to stay off of them. I know it's hard for you but you really need to listen to me this time. mmmmk?

so, I have a herniated disc with seperation that is pushing on the nerve and spinal cord. GREAT. I thank God that it is not worse. THANK YOU GOD. I have a Dr. appt September 23 with a dr from Dallas. I am scared but I am more scared of not taking care of it. Know what I mean? I want to say thanks to those that left comments a few posts ago, your thoughts are very needed and appreciated.

Yesterday was rough. Hubby and the boys all went for a ride and I stood there holding the gate as they went out. That sucked. BAD.

Well, gatta run. Parents are having a family dinner tonight. I had plans to goto a friends house and put away a few drinks.
